plastic hugs film

we all need a squeeze sometimes [government budgets misdirected]

People really hate the new incinerator

They say it’s ugly and evil and a scar on the landscape

I agree with them but secretly I think it can’t help being built

I pity its awkward frame and sooty tongue

I wish it didn’t have such terrible emission levels because then maybe people would stop attacking it so furiously

I wonder if there will ever be a day when people drive past it and don’t mutter disgusting under their breath

When it becomes commonplace

That’s probably all it hopes for which seems a lowly goal

I think that will only happen once there’s so much damage done that it doesn’t make any difference if people flip it off or not

Oh, incinerator it’s not your fault.

You were built to get rid of rubbish and that’s a noble task

They look at you and see their own greed, their own government and their own helplessness

Your metal and stone and bulbous belly aren’t to blame
